RHAS was established by Rodney (Rod) Hyman and Cameron Dunsford on 29 May, 1999. At that time Rod had more than 25 years’ experience and now has amassed more than 40 years’ experience in this very specialised field.

In August 1999 RHAS was engaged by ABB (Asea Brown Boveri) to value its rail division and steel construction divisions around Australia. This work was the foundation of RHAS manufacturing plants’ valuations. RHAS then conducted the piecemeal sale of the steel construction division, the biggest sale of its type in Australia… ever!

The next significant step in the RHAS growth story was its engagement in 2004 to value the Eraring Power Station, one of the largest in Australia. With this experience under its belt, RHAS was approached to value other power plants around Australia and eventually Mighty River Power in New Zealand. Mighty River comprises 9 dams, 9 hydro powers stations on the Waikato River in New Zealand, 5 Geothermal Power Stations and a combined cycle plant in Auckland and provides some 22% of New Zealand’s peak energy needs. These major projects led to many other assignments so that today the combined RHAS/Aon client base includes the overwhelming majority of power stations in Australia and New Zealand including such clients as AGL, Mighty River Power, Origin Energy, Horizon Power and Contact Energy.

Over this time RHAS built a strong base in litigation support and has valuers appear at all levels in the Australian court system providing evidence in all states and for the Commonwealth.

Rodney sold this business to Aon Valuation Solutions in 2014 and having completed his post sale contract, is now independent Valuation Counsel consulting to the legal profession, government and infrastructure owners.
