One of the most challenging areas facing valuers is retrospective valuations where empirical evidence is difficult to source. I and my team specialise in this space and have developed procedures and protocols for dealing with this challenging area.

Pre-loss valuations are a specialty. I and my team have carried out retrospective pre-loss or pre-accident valuations including in one case a rural property with homestead, panel beating business, vintage cars and other assets amounting to more than 3,000 spreadsheet lines and more than 10,000 assets 5 years’ retrospectively. In other cases we have assessed assets as diverse as a Venetian Glass Chandelier, a 3 year old dark green Porsche with zero kilometres, a bucket wheel excavator in Indonesia and perhaps the most challenging, the entire gold mining camp and equipment stolen in the Central African Republic (following a coup).
